Shopify Discount
Overview
Shopify discounts are a core feature of Shopify which allows merchants to offer discounts, create discount codes, set up automatic discounts, or set sale prices for individual products.
You can create codes for a dollar value discount, a percentage discount, a buy X get Y discount, or a free shipping discount. Customers can enter discount codes online at checkout, or in person if you're using Shopify POS.

How does Prosper use Shopify discounts?
Once you've connected your campaign to your Shopify discount, Prosper will generate unique discount codes every time a referral gets sent using the Shopify Admin API. One code will be created for the sender, and one for the receiver. You can choose different discounts for sender & receiver, or the same one. These codes will be created on top of your discount, and can be viewed by going to your discount page and clicking View all codes or by connecting your Prosper account to a data automation source.
Types of Shopify discounts

Creating a Shopify discount
To create a Shopify discount, go to your Shopify dashboard, click the Discounts tab on the left hand menu, then on the top right click the Create Discount button.
Choosing a discount type
Next, you will be prompted to choose a discount type. You can choose any type you'd like, but in this guide we will be covering how to create an Amount off order discount.
Naming your discount
Give your discount a name, preferably something with 'Prosper' in the name so it's easy to remember which discount it is.
In order for your discount to work properly, you must choose the Discount code method, since the Automatic discount method won't generate a code for your referrals.
Discount settings
Configure your discount to act as you want, we highly recommend putting some limits on your discount to avoid abuse.
